About the Library
The library district was established in 1976 and serves a population of 28,751 in Grundy, Kendall, and Will Counties. District Map.
We currently have 11 full-time and 21 part-time staff members who serve in our two buildings - Channahon Library and Minooka Branch - with an operating budget of $2,776,259 for FY25.
The Library is a member of the Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS) and part of the PrairieCat consortium. Our combined collection includes over 85,000 books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, and magazines, and over 75,000 downloadables. The library provides access to technology and hosts programs for all ages throughout the year.
