June 13- July 25

The summer fun for ALL AGES begins June 13 when Summer Reading begins with a Kick Off Event! You can also login or sign-up on Beanstack to get started with the Summer Reading Challenge. 

Already have a Beanstack account?

Login and go to Discover. Find the age-appropriate challenge and select Join. If you have multiple readers on your account, repeat this step on each reader profile. 

New to Beanstack? 

Go to the Beanstack website or download the app. Follow the prompts to set-up an account.

Watch this video for a brief tutorial or call the library for assistance. 

Trouble logging in?

Go to 'forgot username' or 'forgot password' and follow the prompts or contact the library for assistance. 

Tip: If you don't see the correct reading challenge for your child's age group, make sure you are viewing the correct reader profile, or, update the child's age in their profile settings.

Adults 18+

Adult Summer Reading (18+ years)

Every time you log reading, you are automatically entered for gift card drawings. Reaching reading goals also earns virtual tickets for our Grand Prize Drawings:

  • 240 Minutes: 2 tickets
  • 480 Minutes: 2 tickets
  • 720 Minutes: 3 tickets

When a Grand Prize ticket is earned, you will need to choose which Grand Prize Drawing you wish to enter. View the prize choices, then enter your tickets for the drawing you wish to enter. Winners of the Grand Prize drawings are eligible for random gift card drawings, however only one Grand Prize can be won per person. Everyone who reaches 720 Minutes will also receive a completion prize!

Only materials read during the summer reading program (June 13-July 25) are eligible to be logged. All reading minutes must be logged by the end of the program on July 25. Raffle tickets for Grand Prize drawings must be entered by August 1. Winners will be announced the first week in August.

All prizes must be picked up by August 15.

Youth Summer Reading

Log reading to earn prizes, a free book, and virtual raffle tickets to enter for our grand prize drawings! 

  • All reading must be logged between June 13 and July 25. 
  • Youth prizes will be available to pick up starting June 22 at both locations. All prizes must be picked up by August 2. 
  • Virtual tickets for Grand Prize drawings must be entered in Beanstack by July 26. Grand Prize drawing winners will be announced the first week of August.

Read to Me Club

0 - 5 years

Read to me Club Ages 0-5

Parents and family can read to their young children, or children can practice reading! Log up to 20 books to earn prizes, a free book and virtual raffle tickets for our grand prize drawings! 

Books you read for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten can also be counted for Summer Reading!

    • Only books read and logged in Beanstack during June 13-July 25 count toward your Summer Reading progress.

    • Yes! Books read aloud at a storytime or reading time with family and friends all count. 

      Kids and Teens can log time spent reading print books or e-books, including comics or graphic novels, audiobooks, magazines, news articles and fanfiction. 

      For Adults, print books, e-books, audiobooks, news articles and magazines read during the summer reading program are eligible to be logged.

    • Adult Prizes

      As you log reading in Beanstack, virtual badges are earned and you are automatically entered for gift card drawings. Reaching specific reading goals also earns virtual tickets for Drawings.

      You'll be notified when you have been awarded a prize or virtual ticket. Additionally, all adults who log 720 minutes (12 hours) may receive a completion prize.

      Youth Prizes

      As you log reading, virtual badges are earned in Beanstack. Earning badges at certain milestones will award the reader small prizes and/or virtual tickets that can be entered into Drawings.

      The reader will be notified in Beanstack when they are awarded a prize or virtual ticket. Readers can also see what prizes they have earned by going to the challenge page on their profile, and viewing the Rewards tab. 

      Pick-up

      Prizes may differ by age group and will be available to pick up at both of our locations according to the dates listed on the Summer Reading page for that year. 

      Channahon: Visit the front desk for both Adult and Youth prizes. 

      Minooka: Visit the front desk on the 1st floor to pick-up Adult prizes. Visit the 2nd floor Youth Services desk for Youth prizes. 

    • Drawing tickets are virtual and can be redeemed as soon as they are awarded in Beanstack.

      Go to the Drawings tab on your reading challenge page. Enter tickets towards one or more of the available options (prizes may differ by age group). 

      Winners will be notified by either the email or phone number listed on the Beanstack account within 5-10 business days after the deadline for submitting tickets. 

      Grand Prizes can be picked up at the Channahon Library during open hours. If there is a deadline for claiming the grand prizes, this date will be provided in the notices sent to winners. 

      Your virtual tickets must be entered by July 26, 2026 to be eligible for the drawings.
