What is National Library Week?

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate.  This year, National Library Week is April 4-10, 2021.

This year's theme promotes the idea that libraries extend far beyond the four walls of a building, where everyone is welcome to use library services whether in person or virtual.  Help us celebrate by sharing why your library matters. What makes you think of the library? Do you have a favorite book or program you have attended? Let us know what you think and you will be entered into our National Library Week Raffle to win a gift card! Entries will be accepted through April 10. Check out our book list and enter the raffle here.
